"We feel we would give anything if only we could, in actual experience, live on the High Places of love and victory here on this earth and during this life - able always to react to evil, tribulation, sorrow, pain, and every wrong thing in such a way that they would be overcome and transformed into something to the praise and glory of God forever...As Christians we know, in theory at least, that in the life of a child of God there are no second causes, that even the most unjust and cruel things, as well as all seemingly pointless and undeserved sufferings, have been permitted by God as a glorious opportunity for us to react to them in such a way that our Lord and Savior is able to produce in us, little by little, his own lovely character." - Hannah Hurnard

Time

Well, I MUST have been seriously busy. I haven't posted is soooo very long. Life happens...and time allows it! I have had so many adventures since July. Hurricane Ike was an unexpected drama, test, and blessing. It was so cool to see people reaching out to strangers and helping those who were most affected. God used it to train us to love each other on a deeper level. That was cool. We really need to focus on this when there is no emergency, trama, or hardship....just because Jesus would. Fall was also about beginning the last leg of several academic roads for both Courtney and Taylor. They will both graduate this year at their prospecive schools. New financial  ventures would take major adjustments, and bring new meaning to our holidays. New committments to ministry are beginning to shape us. Alot has happened over time. But God was there, through it all and I am grateful for His constant presence. That doesn't make time stand still, it just makes the passing of it more tolerable, productive, and comforting for me. Thank goodness, He has it all under control...because I am not capable of that. So, here I am....contemplating the time past and pressing on......

If you can't stand the heat.....

Wow is it ever hot! It is difficult to stay out of doors for even a short time. I walked outside for just a few minutes this morning and already the temp is off the scale. It has helped to have rain every day. It makes it humid, but has kept the temperatures within reason. Having a pool has helped significantly and the kids are taking advantage of it's close proximity. Hello summer! :)

Birthday Blog

Well, another B-Day just slipped right past me. I think they are sneaking up on me these days. Didn't I just have one 3 months ago? It seems like such a short time has gone by, since the last June. Grabbing the moments and taking the time to really live them, enjoy them, and make them count, are crucial before they slip by. A string of milestones are lined up in the near future. Take them one by one, and utilize their value. What a precious commodity they are. I pray that I will use them wisely....help me Lord to do just that.

Wow, It's already summer.

Well, I did it! I turned my back and guess what, time got away from me. I know that I haven't posted in a really long time, but life gets in the way and I am hard-pressed to get past it to get things done. I have so many goals right now, that time seems to go by even faster. I wake up at 4:30am and can't get back to sleep, for trying to make mental lists of things that need to be done next. I am doing more than I can keep up with, and at the same time, neglecting all of the sorting and tossing that MUST get done as well. Multi-tasking used to be my middle name, and then I traded it in. I really don't like the bustle and have been trying to slow the pace down a bit. It (the pace of my life) listens about as well as my 9-11 year olds on Wednesday nights! I am trying to be a little more patient with myself these days, and will take whatever life hands me and attempt to accomplish something meaningful in a comfortable and more realistic time frame......it could happen. I am comforted by the fact that our heavenly father is so faithful and consistantly patient with us, which is a very good thing. Paul was determined to be content in every circumstance. I am sure that this attitude went a long way toward his success as he fulfilled the call upon his life. So I will enjoy this summer and make time my servant, utilizing the moments, and making as many memories as possible. Happy Summer!

Hello Spring, Welcome Life

Wow, It's gorgeous outside and I long to be out there. But, it is time for a miniature version of spring cleaning and it just won't wait. I will have to be content today, to walk out to the mail box. I have pruned just about everything with roots in the last two months and it has all leafed out with a vengence. I will have to get "my fix" tomarrow at the Arboretum. I see such a wonderful parallel to the Word of God while gardening and being "out of doors". It is so refreshing to hear Him speak to me through this medium. Plants are amazing to me. Their very DNA is a miracle. Creation is the most incredible thing ever. The more I study Genesis, the stronger my belief system becomes. This will always be at my core. God, I am so blessed by what you created. I love this nature you created for our pleasure and I stand in awe at the fact that we were created in your image. You ROCK!
